Specialisation

A broad range of commercial disputes, such as:

  • General contractual matters;
  • Partnership, shareholder and trustee disputes;
  • Sale of business disputes, including restraints of trade;
  • Consumer protection claims, including misleading and deceptive conduct claims;
  • General insurance matters, including professional negligence claims;
  • Property litigation, including retail lease disputes;
  • Banking and finance, particularly mortgage and guarantee litigation;
  • Onsolvency matters ranging from bankruptcy to liquidators’ claims
  • Large scale fraud recovery matters (including obtaining search and freezing orders); and
  • Environmental litigation, and in particular claims made under s62(2A) of the Environment Protection Act 1972;.
  • General negligence claims, including personal injury matters (both statutory benefits and common law claims), as well as class actions; and
  • Royal Commissions. Most notably in 2009 to 2010, in the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission and 2013 to date, in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
