Nigel worked as a solicitor in general practice, then in large-scale commercial litigation matters prior to being called to the Bar.

He gained his law degree whilst managing a retail establishment full-time, and was admitted to practice in Queensland, then in Victoria when he returned in 2004.

Nigel is a trained actor, having graduated from the National Theatre Drama School in 1993.
