Remi accepts briefs to advise and appear in all areas of criminal and quasi-criminal law, as well as public and administrative law, including disciplinary hearings, regulatory matters, inquests and inquiries.

Immediately prior to coming to the Bar, Remi was an in-house Legal Researcher at Peta Murphy Chambers where she supported leading criminal barristers with specialised research and evidentiary analysis in complex indictable matters. Her work extended to quasi-criminal, regulatory, and disciplinary proceedings. Alongside this, she freelanced for other barristers and criminal defence firms.

Earlier, Remi was Associate to his Honour Judge Dempsey in the County Court’s Criminal Division. She gained extensive experience across a broad range of criminal matters including pleas, appeals, bail applications, and jury trials.

Remi had previously worked as a paralegal in a private criminal defence firm where she contributed to novel and high-profile Supreme Court appeals arising from the Royal Commission into the Management of Police Informants.

Remi studied at the University of Melbourne and holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts (English and Theatre Studies, and Screen and Cultural Studies).

Remi is reading with Amelia Beech, and her senior mentor is David Hallowes SC.
