Veronika is an expert criminal law barrister with extensive experience in indictable crime matters.
Appearing in criminal matters across Victoria and Queensland – including homicide, drug trafficking, violence and fraud – her practice is predominantly trial and appellate work.
Veronika has specialist expertise in matters involving complex and technical forensic evidence including medical, financial, scientific, toxicological, injury interpretation and DNA. She has particular interest in cases involving police accountability, human rights issues, and matters affecting First Nations people.
Known for her comprehensive preparation and clear communication, she provides her clients with both legal precision and clarity. She is dedicated to her work and demonstrates a deep commitment towards the people she represents.
Beyond her practice, Veronika is actively committed to the pro bono space in relation to anti-death penalty work, refugee and other matters. She is a member of the Julian Wagner Memorial Fund and has worked with numerous community legal services, amongst other things.

Prior to being called to the Bar in 2018, Veronika worked as a solicitor advocate in criminal law at Doogue & O’Brien (now Doogue + George), Slater & Gordon and the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (ATSILS).
Availability – Veronika accepts briefs in all criminal matters and appears in all jurisdictions. She does not accept direct access briefs.
