Matthew Weinman accepted onto Victoria Legal Aid’s Criminal Trial Preferred Barristers List

01 February 2026

We are pleased to congratulate list member Matthew Weinman on his acceptance onto Victoria Legal Aid’s Criminal Trial Preferred Barristers List.

The Criminal Trial Preferred Barristers List recognises counsel with demonstrated expertise and experience in serious criminal matters. Barristers appointed to the list are entrusted with conducting legally aided trials involving complex factual, evidentiary and procedural issues. Inclusion reflects both technical skill and the professional standards required to appear in significant indictable matters.

Matthew practises across all areas of criminal law and regularly appears in both summary and indictable proceedings. His acceptance onto the Preferred List is a strong endorsement of his advocacy, judgment and commitment to representing legally aided clients in serious criminal trials.

We congratulate Matthew on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to his continued contribution to criminal practice across Victoria.
